Elderly Watch Program The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office feels that there are certain citizens who need our help more than others. The two groups that we focus many of our community programs on are our youth and our senior citizens. The sheriff’s office is always available to come to a neighborhood or other group meeting to discuss crimes against the elderly or other issues dealing with our seniors. However, we realize that there are those that are unable to come to these meetings and may have no family to assist them in other ways. Having seniors in our community that do not have family or friends checking up on them regularly has led to the Sheriff's Office developing our "Senior Citizen Watch Program". This program allows deputies to realize who and where our seniors are that may have special needs during inclement weather or natural disasters. Once they are identified, an officer goes out and does a home visit with the senior. Certain emergency contact information is obtained from the senior along with other important information such as medical needs that may be crucial to them during a disaster. If you or someone you know is a candidate for this program, please contact Lt. Tony Wooten 706/344-3535 or at wooten@dawsoncountysheriff.org To download the Senior Emergency Contact List....click HERE
