Fostering Excellence: Elevate Your Skills with Quality Training

The Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.) requires all mandated officers to earn a minimum of 20 training hours each calendar year. With this in mind, the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office has developed a diversified training calendar that enables officers of our agency and outside agencies to fulfill P.O.S.T. requirements in addition to advanced courses, allowing officers to far exceed the minimum requirement. The Sheriff’s Office employs numerous Instructors with specialty certifications in various disciplines to help meet these training standards.
