Crime Suppression Unit

C.S.U.

C.S.U. is a proactive street unit which falls under the Criminal Investigations Component and is made up of three unique teams:

•Narcotics Investigators

•North Georgia K9 Task Force

•Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic H.E.A.T.

K9

The North Georgia K9 Task Force is maintained with grant funds awarded to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office. The counties serviced by the North Georgia K9 Task Force include Dawson, Fannin, Forsyth, Lumpkin, Pickens, Towns, Union, and White.

H.E.A.T.

The Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic Deputies are maintained with grant funds awarded by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety with a focus on traffic and impaired driving enforcement.

DCSO K9 Unit

Robby, Pelle and Usvo are all patrol dogs trained in the detection of narcotics, article searches, tracking, and apprehension. Arthur is trained in explosives detection and tracking.
