Extra Patrols

At the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, we offer extra patrol services to ensure the safety and security of your home or business. Whether you’re going out of town or need additional surveillance, our dedicated team is here to help.

Our services include:

Requesting extra patrols is easy. Fill out our Extra Patrol Form, and our team will keep a close eye on your property for up to 30 days, with the option to renew as needed.

ELDERLY WATCH

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office operates an Elderly Watch Program, collaboratively engaging with the Senior Center to identify vulnerable senior citizens lacking immediate familial support, particularly in adverse weather conditions. This proactive initiative involves preparedness for contingencies such as food shortages, as experienced in previous instances of inclement weather. The Sheriff’s Office promptly responded by mobilizing resources, including the preparation of sustenance at the Detention Center and the utilization of specialized vehicles to deliver provisions to numerous senior residences. These diligent officers extended their support beyond nourishment distribution, also providing assistance with snow clearance, medication delivery, and even facilitating essential repairs at no financial burden to the citizens.

Expungements/Record Restrictions

Expungement refers to the purging of criminal history records. O.C.G.A. §35‐3‐37(d) provides for the expungement of certain criminal history records when approved by the prosecuting attorney. GCIC cannot expunge a criminal history record without the approval of the prosecuting attorney.

SECONDARY METALS RECYCLERS REGISTRATION

Provided is a comprehensive list of civil process fees in Dawson County. This list equips citizens to confidently navigate writs, processing fees, court fees, and other misc. fees, and will be continuously updated.

SECONDARY METALS RECYCLERS REGISTRATION

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 10-1-360, secondary metals recyclers who purchase regulated metal property in any quantity must register with the appropriate sheriff’s office(s) beginning July 1, 2012.
